We start our home renovation process by working closely with our clients to understand their renovation desires, goals, and priorities. Plan

Planning is the most critical phase of a successful renovation. We collaborate with designers, architects, draft teams, engineers, and other professionals to leverage their specialized skills and knowledge. Leveraging this expertise helps to bring our client’s vision to life. This stage sets the foundation for a successful renovation by ensuring that all aspects of a project are carefully considered and planned before construction begins. Between getting plans drawn up, and working through project engineering, permit submissions, design specifications, and selection, our clients appreciate that we are there every step of the way.

Implementation

The next step in the home renovation process is to facilitate and execute the entire renovation from the start of construction to the finish line. We bring in our trusted team and subcontractors to complete this part of the process. With our on-site management, effective scheduling, budget forecasting, and constant communication, we guide our clients through the construction phase of their project as their plans come to life. We focus on continual transparency and open communication with weekly project meetings and active online communication. This allows our clients to stay informed of the construction progress of their renovation and be able to address any concerns or questions they may have along the way.

Project Completion and Follow Through

Our job isn’t complete once the renovations are done. We also include a warranty as part of our home renovation process. All renovation projects with Coleridge Construction are guaranteed a two-year warranty on our renovation. We continue to be a part of your trusted advisors and work with you should there ever be any issues.

Your Project Manager will be your primary point of contact throughout the entirety of your project. They will oversee all construction-related matters, address any questions or concerns you may have, and conduct weekly client meetings to keep you informed about the progress. Additionally, you can use Co-Construct (our online client portal) to access the entire project team. For any financial inquiries, our office manager will be readily available to assist you.

You will have weekly site meetings, regular online updates, and a schedule that is accessible 24/7 within Co-Construct (our handy client portal and communication tool).

Our process includes providing clear updates on budgeting and scheduling adjustments as changes to scope are made. From there, we take care of all the paperwork and applications, ensuring compliance with all city requirements. We strive to offer flexibility and transparency in our payment process. Typically, we invoice every two weeks for the costs incurred during that period of work. However, we understand that different clients may have different preferences, so we’re open to discussing alternative payment structures. Before finalizing our contract, we’ll set clear expectations together regarding payment schedules to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project.

Absolutely. Prior to starting your project, we provide a very detailed scope of work, along with a comprehensive project schedule with clear start and completion dates. We also provide an 8-10 page contractual term booklet that we review with you to ensure full understanding before the project’s commencement. This document lays out clear expectations from our team and your responsibilities as a homeowner.

We recommend using our trusted team of subcontractors. Over the years, we have carefully curated a network of reliable professionals whom we know, like, and trust. While we fully understand and appreciate your desire to involve friends or family members in the project, we’ve found that it can sometimes introduce complexities that may disrupt an otherwise smooth and seamless process. Yes, we require a small initial deposit to secure your project’s slot in our schedule, along with any necessary deposits for materials and suppliers before commencing construction. Typically, this initial deposit amounts to approximately 10% of the total project cost. The exact amount may vary depending on the specifics of your individual project. We’ll discuss and clarify the deposit requirements with you during the initial stages of our collaboration.

The timeline for starting your project depends on its type and whether a permit is required. Generally, we can begin work approximately 4 months from the initial discussion if no permit is needed. However, if a permit is required, the timeline may extend to 9-12 months. If you’re eager to get started or have specific inquiries about your project’s timeline, we encourage you to give us a call. This is our most common question asked! We get it – budget is a significant concern for every homeowner. The cost of each project can vary greatly depending on the scope of work and project desires.
